We’ll soon be migrating from the email system owned by the Diocese to our own BDMAT email system. Air IT (formerly Microtrading) will be carrying out this migration for us, but there is some important information that you need beforehand.
The migration will take place on Monday 24th May @ 16:00. From this point onwards you will need to sign in to the following services with your new @bdmat.org.uk email.
* Office
* Teams
* OneNote
* OneDrive
Note: This migration only affects you if your email address ends in @bdmatschools.com. If your email ends in @bdmat.org.uk then your email will not need migrating, and this process will not affect you.
The Diocese email system holds some data that can be migrated automatically, and some that we will need to migrate manually.
The following data will be migrated automatically:
-
Email
-
Contacts
-
Calendars
The following data will be migrated manually:
-
OneDrive
-
OneNote
There is currently no way for us to migrate data from Microsoft Teams in the Diocese system. We can show you how to export data that you need to keep from Teams.
We will retain access to the old email system until we are confident that all data has been migrated. however the more we can do in advance, the smoother the migration will go.
Questions
What will my email address be after the migration?
Your email address will be your initial & surname followed by @bdmat.org.uk (e.g. s.vimes@bdmat.org.uk).
What happens to email sent to my @bdmatschools.com email address after the migration?
Email sent to your old email address will arrive in your new inbox as if it was sent to your new @bdmat.org.uk address. Any replies you send will come from your new @bdmat.org.uk email address.
What about Dropbox?
Nothing will change regarding Dropbox. Though a separate migration is planned for this. Further information on this will follow shortly.
